Oddest health warning

As food advisories go, this one's a doozy.  Apparently, there's a problem in some areas of China with fake eggs. 
 
The recipe seems disturbingly similar to the one for making artificial Maraschino cherries, which disposes of the awkwardness of starting with actual cherries in favor of a blend of thickened sugar syrup and artificial flavorings and color, dripped into a vat of Calcium Chloride and Sodium Metabisulfite.
